Unit Title: Letter Sound Knowledge
Lesson Title: Visualizing the letters

Objective:
The students will be able to recognize the letters of the alphabet in written from and the sound that the written form makes. They will also know a thing that starts with that letter and be able to recognize that that thing starts with that letter sound.
Total time for lesson: 30 minutes
Materials Needed:
We will begin today's lesson by going through an activity on the computer.
I want you to do exactly what I do on my computer screen.
We're going to go through each letter of the alphabet and listen to the sound that the letter makes.
As a class we will go through each letter and I will also say the letters sound for them to hear.
Transition: Instructions (1 mins)
Okay now that we've gone through them all together. I want you to go through the letters on your own and explore. Make sure to look at the letter and the pictures that go along with them.
Activity 2: Exploring (10 mins)
The students will be given 10 minutes to explore the game on the computer. They are instructed to stay on that screen and play that specific game only. The teacher will monitor their exploring to ensure that the students are staying on task throughout the exploring period.
Transition: Transition (2 min)
Now that you've explored the website more I want you to pick a letter that you like and we're going to draw our own pictures of something that starts with that letter. I want you to try not to use the picture that is given to you in the online activity.If you need help thinking of something let me know.
Activity 3: Drawing Letters (10min)
I want you to color your pictures and draw them neatly. Also, you need to write the letter as best you can on your paper so that everyone else knows what letter you chose. The students will draw pictures to represent something that starts with a letter of their choice.
Conclusion: Publishing Works (2 mins)
Now that you're finished with your drawings I am going to post them up around the room in alphabetical order.If there are any of the letters of the alphabet missing than I will add my own pictures of those letters.
